Quality & Consistency
We are a small microbrewery making quality craft beers for Korea. We try to use local ingredients when we can and we support our local communities by giving jobs, boosting local government’s revenue, and even donating grain to local farmers.
Your local craft beers will most likely be cheaper, and much fresher than imported beer so go ahead feel good about drinking The Hand and Malt beers.
BELGIAN WIT ㅡ 4.7 ABV / IBU 9
This Belgian-style white ale will be refreshingly tart with a nice fluffy head. The Wit is where we let our special yeast do the magic, so if you want a beer to liven up your palate, enjoy this European classic anytime of the year.
SLOW IPA ㅡ 4.5 ABV / IBU 40
This is a low alcohol India Pale Ale with a deep golden sunset hue and a pronounced hop profile which has a unique blend of floral, citrus and tropical flavors and aromas.
MOCHA STOUT ㅡ 4.5 ABV / IBU 28
Rich malt and coffee flavors highlight this milky chocolate stout wite a creamy head. Our Mocha Stout is so good you may want to ditch the coffee and wake up to this in the morning.
EXTRA SPECIAL ALE ㅡ 5.7 ABV / IBU 31
This English-style Ale will hit you with a rich malty taste and subtle hops to the nose. We chose the finest Maris Otter malt to give our ale a distinctive solid base flavor. This will be your “"go-to”" beer for any occasion.
Belgian DubbeL ㅡ 7.0 ABV/ IBU 21
The Hand and Malt Belgian style Dubbel is brewed with traditional Korean Yeot (candied sugar), creating a beer that is complex and rich that has a malty sweet up front flavors with a dry and warming finish. Look for flavors and aromas of dark fruits, caramel and spice.

President & Founder
Responsible for running operations, sales and marketing Bryan is the driving vision behind The Hand and Malt brand. After hanging up his suit from a decade worth of corporate work in public relations and marketing and sales at Microsoft he started two successful restaurants. During this time he harnessed his passion for quality beer to start one of Korea's largest craft microbreweries that focus's first and foremost on quality and consistency.
Chief Technology Officer
A legend in the industry Phillip Kelm's brewing credentials include a Diploma in Brewing Science from the Siebel Institute and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Better than 20 years commercial brewing experience, with more than 15 years of that international service uniquely qualifies him for worldwide brewery consultations. He’s provided professional brewing services in Australia, Brazil, England, Fiji, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Mexico, Palau, Taiwan, and many in USA.
With over 11 years of brewing experience under his belt, Brandon is a veteran brewer with an MBAA. He was the lead brewer at Magic Hat when it was one of the top 20 craft breweries in the US and most recently the lead brewer at Maui Brewing company famous for it's coconut porter. His knowledge runs the gamut from the cellar, to filtering, to Q&A, and of course brewing.
